United go into the derby with yet another labored win against Besiktas in their Champions League clash on Tuesday with Paul Scholes providing the winner late in the game.
However Scholes will be unavailable for the match on Sunday with the former England international receiving his marching orders against Tottenham Hotspur last weekend.
City will also be missing a key player in the form of Adebayor who has been charged with improper conduct by the FA after his antics against Arsenal. Carlos Tevez, Robinho and Roque Santa Cruz are also out of action with injuries and are unavailable for the trip to Old Trafford.
