First Day Of Fall 2009,Autumnal Equinox 2009

First Day Of Fall 2009,Autumnal Equinox 2009-September brings the last day of summer and the first day of fall. This year, it’s tomorrow, the 22nd of September, the first day of fall 2009 or the Autumnal Equinox. There are two such events each year. The autumnal equinox in the fall, and the vernal equinox in the spring. The equinox occurs when day and night are approximately of equal length. Scientifically, this occurs because the earth’s axis is not tilted towards or away from the sun, but rather level with it.

Here is a list of the precise moments and dates when fall arrives for the northern hemisphere: September 23, 2007 at 5:51 am EDT
September 22, 2008 at 11:44 am EDT
September 22, 2009 at 5:18 pm EDT

It’s a pleasant thought for those who love Thanksgiving, Christmas, New Year’s, Kwanzaa, Hanukkah, and more, but for those who like warm (but not hot!) days with longer daylight hours, the first day of fall 2009 or the Autumnal Equinox leads to a long spiral into a cold or wet winter. Can you tell my opinion on this?

Besides all that dismal weather upcoming, the first day of fall 2009 or the Autumnal Equinox is the signal that Seasonal Affective Disorder might start to affect some people. SAD affects moods in some people as a result of less sunshine.

There are plenty to love fall and winter, and thus for them the first day of fall 2009 or the Autumnal Equinox is a good thing. Me, I would love to be able to head to the Southern Hemisphere where it’s nearly time for the vernal equinox.
