He won out over fellow Days of Our Lives star Blake Berris, All My Children’s Cornelius Smith Jr., Guiding Light’s EJ Bonilla and 2007 Daytime Emmy Younger Actor winner Bryton James (McClure).
The irony is that One Life to Live’s Kristen Alderson and Brandon Buddy–both snubbed of nominations this year–presented the award.

Darin Brooks was born and raised in Honolulu, Hawaii, to parents Don and Susan Brooks. He went to school at Kaiser High School, and graduated in 2002. Brooks enjoys surfing, skateboarding, playing baseball, football, and soccer. He also enjoys playing guitar, bass guitar, and drums. He used to play in a rock band in high school. Brooks is of Irish, Polish, Belgian and Norwegian decent.
